The topic of war has always been a fascinating subject to learn and read about. War is a huge part of the world. It creates fear in the eyes of the citizens and dependence on the country. One of the biggest advancements in war technology was the development of nuclear materials. To put this new creation to the test, scientist's turned the devastating power of the Fat Man atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We were intrigued by the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, although we knew very little about it. We knew it had a major impact in World War II and that it killed around 200,000 Japanese civilians. Therefore, we thought picking the bombing was a good idea. The bombing turned out to be a major turning point in World War II because it was the main reason the war was finally put to an end after years of continuous fighting. Because of the tremendous importance of the bombing, it was easy to find trustworthy facts online and in textbooks. The idea of an atomic bomb being unleashed frightened millions around the world and many people wanted to be the first person to inform the world about the new mysterious weapons. We found many interesting facts that were included in this website that are both primary and secondary sources. Most of these facts were found on the Internet. Before all these facts could become a website, they were organized, and placed together into separate categories which allowed us to present the website neatly. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki relates well with the topic of a turning point in American history. Without the courageous efforts of the B-29 bomber crew, the war would have continued on for many more years, and would have impacted the outcome of the war more tremendously than before.
